QUANTUM
The word 'Quantum' comes from the term 'Quantum Physics,' an Einsteinian-school discovery that light energy travels not in a uniform wave, but in tiny packets called 'Quanta.' Max Planck. In a wider and more modern sense, the term Quantum has come to describe a wide variety of [generally inexplicable] phenomenon dealing with Energy itself. The Quantum world is the realm of the microcosm; the Atomic scale right down to the Space-Time fabric of the Zero Point Field--- the study of which, has undeniably restored a sense of inexplicable awe and mystery to our Universe.
As a branch of science, Quantum Physics had its beginnings with the now-infamous "Double-Slit Experiment" of Thomas young in 1801. The Wiki has this to say:
"The double-slit experiment, sometimes called Young's experiment (after Young's interference experiment), is a demonstration that matter and energy can display characteristics of both waves and particles, and demonstrates the fundamentally probabilistic nature of quantum mechanical phenomena."
The Wiki-quote is, in fact, a vast understatement. The Double-Slit Experiment reveals a genuine mystery which defies logic, and has continued to rest (uncomfortably for over 200 years, unexplained), at the very heart of Quantum Physics; single-handed, it shattered the secure solidity of the Newtonian view of science. Permanently shattered it, down the rabbit-hole forever.
With New Forest Centre, New York, being a self-defined "Mystery School," we consider the addition of QUANTUM to our educational screen paramount; we hope, by visitors immersing themselves in the "weirdness" of the Quantum Mechanics highlighted here, that one might gain an expanded paradigm regarding the boundaries of Reality and our relationship to it.

INTRODUCTION: "Down the Rabbit Hole," (2006).
In 2006, a controversial documentary film was made which presented possible connections between the science of Quantum Mechanics and the realms of neuro-physiology and mysticism. Some of the top voices in quantum interpretation were involved, including leading physicist spokesman Dr. Fred Alan Wolf (also known as "Dr. Quantum)--- but also Ramtha, the chanelled entity of new-age icon J.K. Knight. Like any provocative work, the movie has its strong supporters as well as detractors. It is presented below simply as an intriguingly unique launch into our exploration of the Mysteries of Quantum Reality.
